If your Macintosh computer is running OSX 10.12 Sierra, you need to upgrade the software to regain all printer functions.

Possible issues

If your Macintosh computer is still running the original version of macOS Sierra (10.12) you may have several issues with your Canon inkjet printer.
  • A "filter error" is indicated and nothing prints.
  • Printing stops partway through.
  • Some portion of the printout is missing.
  • Canon software doesn't launch or appears incorrectly.
  • Push-scan doesn't work when connected via USB.

Solutions

All issues are solved by updating the computer software and making sure you have the latest version of Canon software.
  • Install the latest macOS software update.
  • Update to the latest version of Canon software (this includes the CUPS printer driver, the scanner driver, and any Canon applications).
