If the support code 1259 appears, it is because the paper output tray is not pulled out fully.

Written instructions

Follow the instructions below to resolve this error.
  1. Make sure there are no objects impeding the paper output tray motion around the printer.

  2. Pull out the paper output tray fully.
    Remove any jammed paper, it is possible that the paper output tray is not pulled out fully.


  3. Select OK on the touch screen to resolve error.

  4. Load paper in the cassette properly.
    When you load A4 or Letter-sized paper in the cassette, make sure you have extended it.


  5. Perform printing or copying again.

    If the steps above do not resolve the error condition, the printer may need to be repaired or replaced.

    There are two options currently available to you.

    1. Warranty Service – If you are within the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty and have your proof of purchase you are entitled to service or replacement. If you have purchased a CarePak Canon extended warranty, you may be entitled to additional options.  Please create or log into your Canon Account to obtain service.
    2. Out of Warranty – If you are outside of your warranty period, you may qualify for purchasing a replacement through the Canon Upgrade Program. Please contact our Sales group to inquire about your upgrade options at 866-443-8002.
