Printing onto custom paper sizes from Windows

Instructions for setting the custom size on the machine and Windows computer.

Solution

The screen shown here is displayed when paper is loaded in the multi-purpose tray. Follow the on-screen instructions to specify settings that match the size and type of the loaded paper.


If the screen shown above is not displayed when paper is loaded
If you always load the same paper in the multi-purpose tray, you can skip the paper setting operations by registering the paper size and type as the default setting. When the default setting is registered, however, the screen shown above is not displayed.

1. Select [Custom].

2. Specify the length of the [X]  side and [Y] side.
  • Select [X] or [Y], and enter the length of each side using <+>/<->, with  /  to move the cursor between the digits for inputting whole numbers and fractions.
  • If you register the paper size you use frequently on buttons [S1] to [S3], you can call them up with one touch.

3. Select [Apply].

4. Select the paper type.


On the computer
Prior to printing.

To print on paper sizes other than standard sizes, you must first register the paper size.

1. Display [Devices and Printers] from the [Control Panel] of Windows.

2. Right-click the icon of the printer you are using → click [Printing Preferences].

3. Click [Custom Paper Size] in the [Page Setup] tab.

The [Custom Paper Size Settings] Dialog Box is displayed.


4. Set [Name of Custom Paper Size], [Unit], and [Paper Size].
The [Height] setting must be equal to or greater than the [Width] setting.

5. Click [Register] → [OK].
You can select the registered custom paper size from [Page Size] and [Output Size] in the [Basic Settings] or [Page Setup] tab.

To print on the custom size created above.
1. Select [Print] from the application menu.
The [Print] dialog box is displayed.When printing from a Windows Store app, because you cannot display the print settings screen of the driver, the number of functions you can set is limited.

2. Select the name of the printer you are using → click [Printer properties] (or [Properties]).
The print settings screen of the printer driver is displayed.

3. Set [Copies] in the [Basic Settings] tab.

4. Select the custom page size you want to print on from [Output Size].

5. Click [OK] in the print settings screen of the printer driver.

6. Click [Print] (or [OK]).
Printing starts.
