Description

This article explains how to disable or enable IPv6 on the PIXMA iP8720 and iX6820.

Solution

Follow the steps below to disable IPv6 through the Remote UI.
  1. Print a network configuration page (also known as a LAN details page) for your printer.

  2. From a web browser on a computer or mobile device, enter the printer's IPv4 address into the address bar.

NOTE: If you have your printer registered with Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY on an iOS or Android device, you can access the Remote UI by tapping on the name of your printer at the top of the main screen, then tapping
    Printer Information.

  3. In the Remote UI, click (or tap) Network Configuration.

  4. Click (or tap) Advanced.

  5. Click (or tap) Network Settings.

  6. Click (or tap) Disable IPv6.  Then, click (or tap) OK.

  7. The following message will appear.

The router may assign a new IPv4 address to the printer.  If this happens, you may need to print another LAN details page from your printer in order to confirm that IPv6 has been disabled.

To enable IPv6, follow the steps above, but click (or tap) Use IPv6 in step 6.
