Learn how to scan items larger than the scanner glass with the Image Stitch function of IJ Scan Utility Lite for macOS.

Solution

You can scan the left and right halves of an item larger than the platen (scanner glass) and combine them back into one image. Items up to approximately twice as large as the platen are supported.

The following explains how to scan from the item to be placed on the left side.

  1. Start IJ Scan Utility Lite.

  2. To set item type, resolution, and PDF settings, click Settings..., and then set each item in Settings (Scan and Stitch) dialog.

Once settings are made in the Settings (Scan and Stitch) dialog, the same settings can be used for scanning from the next time.

In the Settings (Scan and Stitch) dialog, set image processing settings such as show-through reduction and moire pattern reduction, set where to save the scanned images, and more, as needed.

After adjusting the settings as desired, click OK.

  3. Click Stitch.
