Learn how to use the Easy Wireless Connect method to set up your PIXMA TS6220 printer on a wireless network (LAN) from a Mac PC.
 

Solution

To use the PIXMA TS6220 wirelessly, you need to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi® Network, then the download and install the printer software on your Mac®.

Follow the instructions below to use the Easy Wireless Connect method to connect your printer to a wireless network.
 


There are two parts to the setup process:

  1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer.
  2. Download and run the setup file on your computer.

 

1. Start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer

  1. Turn the printer ON. (If the power is on, the POWER lamp (A) is lit.)
    Note If the printer is busy with a cleaning, print head alignment or other task, wait for it to finish.

  2. Press the HOME HOME icon button on the printer. If an error screen displays, tap OK, then press the HOME  button.

  3. Tap the Wireless connect  (A) icon.

  4. Tap Yes.

    Screen: Settings will be made on a computer, smartphone, etc. Please confirm.

  5. The screen below appears. It may take time until the printer is detected and the screen changes.

    Screen: Follow the instructions on the computer or smartphone, etc. to perform the operation.




2. Download and run the setup file on your computer

  1. Download the setup file.

  2. Read the information taking note of any warning messages that appear during setup, then select Download.
     If you see a message like this:

    Select OK. Then, control-click on the setup file, select Open, then select Open in the error message window. This will allow the setup program to proceed.

  3. Select Next on the first screen.

  4. Enter your computer User Name and Password, then select Install Helper.

  5. Select Start Setup.

  6. Read the network security notice, then select Next.

  7. Select the appropriate region from the drop-down, then select Next.

  8. Read the License Agreement, then select Yes to continue.

  9. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the information request.

  10. Select Yes to confirm the connection method.

    Check the Connection Method screen. Select Yes to continue.
  11. Setup continues. Please wait.

  12. If the following appears, select Allow.

    Allow selected on screen: Setup wants to access key "My Network" in your keychain.
  13. Network connection is complete. Select Next. Setup is almost finished.

  14. Select Add Printer.

  15. Select the following on the Add screen:

    • TS series with Bonjour Multifunction listed in the Kind column.

    • AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the Use: drop-down.

    • Add (you will return to the Helper tool).

  16. Select Next to continue.

  17. Select Start if you want to run a test print, or Next to continue.

  18. On the Setup Complete screen, select Next.

  19. Select any additional software you want to add, then select Next. If you select additional software, the installation may take several minutes to complete.

  20. Select Next on the You Can Print... screen.

    You can print from a smartphone or tablet. Select Next.
  21. Select Skip or Register Now.

    Select Register or Skip on the Printer Registration screen.
  22. Select a desktop shortcut preference then select Next.

    Select Create a Shortcut or Do Not Create a Shortcut to the desktop, then Next.
  23. Select Exit. Installation is complete. You are ready to print or scan wirelessly from your Mac.

    Select Exit to complete the installation.
