Learn how to remove a paper jam inside the PIXMA TS8220.
Solution
The instructions below will show you how to remove a paper jam from inside your printer.
Before you begin
If paper becomes jammed while you print, you need to turn off the printer to remove it. Tap Stop to stop the print job before you turn off the printer.

Remove a jam
Turn off printer and unplug it.
Open the scanning unit cover.
Do not touch clear film (A),you could damage the printer if you touch or scratch this part with paper or your hand.
Check if jammed paper is under print head holder.
If the jammed paper is under the print head holder, hold the top and move the print head holder slowly to the far right or left, whichever makes it easier to remove the paper.
Hold jammed paper firmly in both hands.
If the paper is rolled up, pull it out.
Slowly pull out paper, so as not to tear it. Pull out the paper at an angle of about 45 degrees.
Make sure all jammed paper is removed.
If the paper tears when you pull out it, a bit of paper may remain in the printer. Check the items below and remove any paper that remains.
Any paper left under the print head holder?
Any small bits of paper left in the printer?
Any paper left in the left and right empty spaces (B) in the printer?
Close the scanning unit cover. Hold it up once, and then take it down gently.
All jobs in the print queue are canceled. Print them again.
When you reload the paper, make sure to load it correctly. If a paper jam message appears on the printer's LCD or your computer screen, there may be some paper still inside the printer. Check the printer again for any bits of paper that remain.
