Description

This article explains how you can register your printer with the Canon IJ Cloud Printing Center.  This will allow you to print items from or scan items to cloud based services, such as Google Drive and Dropbox.

Solution

To use the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center, you will need to:

  1. Print the registration ID
  2. Access the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center Website and Provide the Requested Information
  3. Complete the User Registration

If your printer does not have a color LCD or a 2-line LCD (for example, the MG2900 Series or MG3000 Series), you can register your printer with the IJ Cloud Printing Center through the Remote UI.  Log into the Remote UI, then click here.

To log into the Remote UI, print the LAN details for your printer, then enter the IPv4 address for your printer into a web browser window.

Print the registration ID

  1. Check that the printer is connected to the Internet

If your LCD monitor is a color model

    1. From the home window, select  Setup ->  Web service setup -> Web service connection setup -> IJ Cloud Printing Center setup -> Register with this service

    2. In the registration confirmation window, Select Yes

    3. In the print settings, select the display language

If your LCD monitor is a monochrome model

    1. On the printer operation panel, select the  Setup button, and then select Web service setup -> Connection setup -> IJCloudPrintingCtr -> Register w/ service

    2. In the registration confirmation window, Select Yes

    3. Select the print language

  2. Follow the instructions displayed in the window, and print the URL of the authentication site and the Printer registration ID

Set A4 size or Letter size plain paper and select OK.
The authentication URL and Printer registration ID are printed.

You will use this printed page in the next step.

The operation to complete the registration should be done within 60 minutes.

Access the Canon Inkjet Cloud Printing Center Website and Provide the Requested Information

Do not use the Back button of the web browser while an operation is processing. The screen may not transition properly.

  1. Use the web browser on your PC, smartphone, tablet, or other devices to access the authentication URL

  2. On the Printer Registration screen, type in the Printer registration ID found on the page that was just printed.  Then, click OK.

  3. The following prompt will appear.

If you do not have a Canon ID, you will need one in order to proceed.  Click Sign up with your email and follow all instructions to create a Canon ID.  If you already have a Canon ID, click Already have a Canon ID? Sign in.

If you already have a Canon ID, enter your email address and password into the fields as requested, then click Sign in.

  4. After signing into your Canon Account, you can register your printer if you wish to do so.  Select your model from the drop down menu, enter the serial number and date of purchase (the date of purchase is optional), then click Add product.

If you do not wish to do this, click Skip and continue.

  5. After a few moments, the following prompt will appear.

Clicking Cancel will take you to the IJ Cloud Printing Center website.  If you previously registered a printer with the IJ Cloud Printing Center, that printer will be displayed on the site.  Clicking OK will display the printer you just registered.

The registration is completed.
