Multiple copies of printer show up in the add printer dialog box on Mac 10.7 and Mac 10.8 - LBP712Cdn

Description

Using USB on Mac OS 10.7 and Mac os 10.8 shows three copies of the LBP712Cdn connected. Installing any of these copies will not allow the printer to print.

Solution



Change the USB-Connected PC OS setting to correct this issue. The setting for Mac OS  X10.10 or earlier should be set to Other. Follow the instructions below to change the setting.

1. Press the button on the printer.

2. Select the Control Menu and press OK.

3. Press the down arrow to select USB-Connected PC OS and press OK.

4. Press down to select Other and press OK.

Turn the main power switch off and back on for the setting to take effect. The printer should now show only one copy, and once installed will print.
