Description

Ink that collects around the ink jet nozzles may stain your document or cause the text to appear as scratched. Clean the area around the ink jet nozzles periodically. Cleaning the ink jet nozzles is an efficient action when the printed text becomes faint.

Solution

  1. Hook your finger around the open lever and open the Maintenance Cover.

  2. Dampen a cloth with water, wring the cloth out thoroughly, and then wipe off the dirt around the ink absorber.

If your documents are stained and smudged from printing even after you clean the ink absorber, the ink absorber may need to be replaced.

  3. Remove the Imprinter Cover.

  4. Use a dry cotton swab to wipe off any ink on the ink jet nozzle.
If the text still appears faint after this operation, replace the ink cartridge.

  5. Place the ink cartridge shown in the diagram below.

Do not touch the electrical contacts on the cartridge. Doing so may cause a malfunction.

Do not switch between ink cartridges until it is empty. If you do so, the applications cannot check the ink level precisely.

  6. Push down on the ink cartridge until it clicks into place.

  7. Carefully replace the Imprinter Cover.

  8. Gently close the Maintenance Cover until it clicks in place.
