Solution

If you are having difficulties in using your printer with the Canon Print Service Plugin for HP Slate tablets, you may be able to find the printer via its IP address.

Follow the steps below.

  1. When you want to print something from your HP Slate, tap the Share icon and tap either Share... or Print (the available options will depend on the app you are using).  If your app has a Share... option, tap it and then tap Print.

  2. If you have had a Canon printer working with this plugin before, tap on its name at the upper left, then tap All printers....

If you have not had a printer set up to work with this plugin before, this step may not apply.

  3. Tap the magnifying glass icon at the upper right.

  4. The on-screen keyboard will appear.  Tap ?123 at the lower left to change from letters to numbers.

Type in the printer's IP address.  You will need to either display the printer's IP address on its LCD, or print a Network Configuration Page (also known as LAN Details Page).  After you have typed this in, tap the magnifying glass icon on the right.

  5. Your printer will be listed.  Tap on the printer to select it.

  6. Specify any options as needed, then tap the Print icon towards the right to begin printing.
