USB Setup - Mac OS X Computers

The instructions /  screenshots  below show the setup method whereby a USB cable is connected to the printer and computer.

To begin the setup, first download the setup file

Read the information taking note of the information concerning warning messages that may appear during setup then click the "Download" button.

After the file has downloaded, double click the Setup icon to begin the installation program.


 

1. Start setup.

   If you see this message, click Open.

   

   Click Next on the first screen.

   

2. Enter your computer User Name and Password then select Install Helper.

   

3. Select Start Setup

   

   On this message, click Next.

   

   The installer will acquire information on the latest software available for your printer.  This may take a few minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

   

4. Select appropriate region and click Next

   

5. Select Yes on the License Agreement.

   

6. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the Survey.

   

   If you click Do not agree, the following message will appear.

   

   Click OK to proceed.

7. Status check occurs

   

8. Select USB Connection (USB Cable) on the Select Connection Method screen.  Click Next.

   

   Note: Clicking About Connection Types will take you here.

9. IJ Scan Utility Lite will be downloaded and installed.  This may take several minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection.

   

   Make sure the printer is powered on. Connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable. 

   

   The following screen will appear after the USB cable has been connected.

   The installer will process for a few moments.  After this has finished, the screen shown in step 10 will appear.

10. Click Next

    

11. Setup complete.  Click Next.

    

12. Select any optional software* desired.  Click Next 

    

    *Optional software may vary

13. The setup program will download and install any software that you have selected.  This will take a few minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection.

    

14. Click Next

    

    Note: Clicking Instructions will take you here.

    The setup program will process for a few moments.

    

15. If you would like to register your printer, click Register Now and follow any on-screen instructions.  If you do not wish to register your printer, click Skip.

    

16. Select whether or not to create a shortcut for the manual. Click Next.

    

17. Click Exit.
