There is no option for AirPrint driver for USB connected printer

Solution

If the AirPrint  driver is not selected for a USB-connected printer, printing is not possible.  In this case try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable.

For Example:

When attempting to print, the Print dialog displays No Printer Selected




Click the Printer: dropdown then click Add Printer




Select the printer with USB listed in the Kind column.   "Choose a Driver...." is listed instead of AirPrint in Use: 

Click the Use: dropdown.





Notice that there are no driver options listed



At this point, disconnect then reconnect the USB cable.  AirPrint is now selected for Use:
