Description
Setting the scanner to the Long Document Mode enables scanning documents up to 5,588 mm long (220") (or up to 3,000 mm (118.11") with the DR-G2090).
The Long Document Mode can be set with the scanner driver or by selecting [Long Document] in User Mode.
Solution
Setting with the Scanner Driver
- Open the scanner driver's setting screen.
- In the [Basic] tab, click the [Setting] button of [Page Size].
[Page Size Settings] dialog box will open.
- Click the [Long Document Mode] tab and specify the Long mode.
Depending on the length of the document, select [Long Document Mode (1000 mm)], [Long Document Mode (3000 MM)] or [Long Document Mode (5588 mm)[.
- The [Long Document Mode (5588mm)] setting is not available in the DR-G2090.
- If you select the [Feed slowly] check box, documents are fed at a slow rate, regardless of resolution or mode settings.
- Click the [OK] button to close the Settings screen.
When you set the Long mode, [(Long Document)] will be displayed in [Page Size] in the [Basic] tab.
Setting with User Mode
- Press the Menu key on the operation panel.
User Mode is activated.
- Press the keys to select [Scan Setting], and press [OK].
The scan setting items are displayed.
- Press the keys to select [Long Document], and press [OK].
The long document setting items are displayed.
- Press the keys to select [Max Document Length], and press [OK].
- Press the keys to specify the long document mode.
According to the document length, select [Long Document (1000 mm)], [Long Document (3000 mm)], or [Long Document (5588 mm)].
The [Long Document (5588mm)] setting is not available in the DR-G2090.
- Press [OK] to accept.
- Press the Menu key to return to the original screen.
- Scanning in Long Document Mode can slow donw the processing speed.
- When Long Document Mode is set to [Long Document (3000 mm)] or [Long Document (5588 mm)], the scanned image may be lost if the scanning mode is set to color and Image Quality is set to [Image quality priority]. In this case, scan the document in black and white or reduce the Image Quality setting.
- When Long Document Mode is set to [Long Document (3000 mm)] or [Long Document (5588 mm)] the scanned image may be lost if scanning is performed at 400/600 dpi or the scanning mode is set to color and the scanning side setting is "Duplex". In this case, lower the resolution , scan the document in black and white or select the "Simplex" scanning side setting.
- If a sheet is loaded at a skewed angle when scanning long documents, it may be damaged by contacting both sides of the feed path. Be careful to place the document so that it is not skewed.
- Paper jam detection may react slowly when scanning long docuemts, which could result in damage to the jammed documents. Be especially careful to avoid paper jams.
- To scan long documents, enable the [Separation Off], and manually feed pages one by one.
