Installing and Removing the Memory Card From the EOS 1D Mark IV

Description

Please see the following procedure to install and remove the memory card form the EOS 1D Mark IV.

Solution

The EOS 1D Mark IV can use CF and SD cards. Images can be recorded when at least one card is installed in the camera.

If both card slots have a card installed, you can select which card to record images onto. You can record images to one or the other card, or to both simultaneously.

If an SD card is sued, be sure that the card's write protect switch is set to enable writing/erasing.

Installing the card

1. Open the cover.

  • Flip out and turn the cover release as shown by the arrow.

2. Insert the card.

  • The left slot is for a CF card, and the right slow is for an SD card.
  • As shown in the illustration, insert the memory card with the label facing away from the door.
    If the card is inserted into the camera the wrong way, the camera and/or card may be damaged.
    • When a CF card is installed, the CF card eject button will stick out once the card is inserted.
    • When installing a CF card, push the card in until it clicks into place.

3. Close the cover.

  • Press the cover until it snaps shut.

3. Set the power switch it <ON>.

  • The number of remaining shots will be displayed on the top LCD panel and in the viewfinder.
  • The rear LCD panel will indicate which card(s) have been installed. The images will be recorded to the card with the <> arror next to the respective card's indicator.

Removing the card

 

1. Open the cover.

  • Set the power switch to <OFF>.
  • Make sure that the access lamp is off, and then open the cover.

2. Remove the card.

  • To remove the CF card: push the eject button.
  • To remove the SD card: push the card in gently and release it, then pull it out.
  • Close the cover.
