This article explains how to perform an ink flush on the PIXMA G4210. If print head cleanings and deep cleanings have not resolved print quality issues, an ink flush may resolve them.

Ink flush consumes a great amount of ink.

Frequent ink flushing can rapidly consume ink, so perform this procedure only when necessary.

Performing ink flush when the remaining ink level is not enough may damage the printer. Before performing ink flush, check the remaining ink level of all colors. If the remaining ink level is below the single dot (a), refill the ink tank of corresponding color.

Perform ink flush following the procedure below.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Press the Setup  button.

    The Setup menu screen appears.

  3. Select Maintenance and press the OK button.

  4. Select Ink Flush and press the OK button.

If ink notification is disabled, proceed to step 7.

  5. Check the displayed message and press OK button.

  6. Check the displayed message, select Yes and then press the OK button.

  7. Check the displayed message, select Yes and then press the OK button.

    The Ink flush will start.

Do not perform any operations while ink flush is in progress. It takes approximately nine minutes to complete.
