If you attempt to print and you see a message telling you that the printer is not responding, here are some things to check.

1. Is the printer plugged in and powered on?
   If not, make sure that the printer is plugged in. Then, use the power button to turn it on.

2. Is there a support code showing on the printer?
   If there is a support code shown on the printer, address the code first (for example, if an ink is out or if there is no paper, replace the ink tank or load paper into the upper cassette or the lower cassette).

3. Are the printer and the computer connected to the same network?
   To verify this, print out the network settings and check the listing for the SSID. Make sure that it matches the name of the network your computer is connected to. Click here if you have a Windows PC. Click here if you have a Mac. If the printer is not connected to the correct SSID (or network name), connect the printer to the correct network.

4. Is the printer's signal strength low due to its distance from the access point (or wireless router)?
   Move the printer closer to the access point (or wireless router). To check signal strength, print out the network settings. The higher the percentage, the stronger the signal.

5. You may need to power cycle the printer and wireless router. This can restore network communication. Even if other devices can communicate with your printer, sometimes power cycling the printer and the wireless router can restore the connection between the computer and the printer.

6. Is a firewall enabled on the computer?
   Firewalls can block communication between the computer and the printer. You may need to add exceptions into your firewall.
