Learn how to update the firmware of your PIXMA MG6820 / MG6821 / MG6822 printer from its operation panel.

 

Solution

Follow the steps below to update the firmware for your PIXMA MG6820 / MG6821 / MG6822.

  1. Flick the HOME screen and tap Setup icon Setup.

  2. Tap Device settings.

  3. Scroll down to Firmware update and tap it.

  4. Tap Install update.

  5. The printer will check for the latest firmware version available. If an update is available, tap Yes.

  6. Tap Start update.

The printer will turn itself off and begin the firmware update process. Make sure that the power cord stays connected during this process. 
The printer will turn back on after the update has finished. When this happens, tap OK.

 Note

  • If your printer already has the latest firmware installed, tap OK on the message that is displayed.
