Description

Canon : Product Manual : EOS-1D X Mark III : Date/Time/Zone

Solution

Date/Time/Zone

Date/Time/Zone

When you turn on the power for the first time or if the date/time/zone have been reset, follow these steps to set the time zone first.

By setting the time zone first, you can simply adjust this setting as needed in the future and the date/time will be updated to match it.

Since the captured images will be appended with the shooting date and time information, be sure to set your date/time.

  1. Select [Set-up: Date/Time/Zone].

  2. Set the time zone.

    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select [Time zone].
    • Press SET.
    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select the time zone, then press SET.
    • If your time zone is not listed, press the MENU button, then set the difference from UTC in [Time difference].
    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select a [Time difference] item (+/–/hour/minute), then press SET.
    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial, then press SET.
    • After entering the time zone or time difference, turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select [OK], then press SET.
  3. Set the date and time.

    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select an item, then press SET.
    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial, then press SET.
  4. Set daylight saving time.

    • Set it as necessary.
    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select [Daylight saving time off], then press SET.
    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select [Daylight saving time], then press SET.
    • When the daylight saving time is set to [Daylight saving time], the time set in step 3 will advance by 1 hour. If [Daylight saving time off] is set, the daylight saving time will be canceled and the time will go back by 1 hour.
  5. Exit the setting.

    • Turn the Quick Control Dial dial to select [OK].

Caution

  • The date, time, and time zone settings may be reset when the camera is stored without the battery, when the battery is exhausted, or when it is exposed to freezing temperatures for an extended period. If this happens, set them once again.
  • After changing [Zone/Time difference], check that the correct date/time are set.
  • When you will use [Sync time between cameras] over a wired LAN or with a Wireless File Transmitter, use other EOS-1D X Mark III cameras. [Sync time between cameras] cannot be used with different models.

Note

  • Auto power off time may be extended while the [Set-up: Date/Time/Zone] screen is displayed.
  • The time can be set or updated automatically using GPS ().
