Description

The viewfinder of the EOS 1Dx Mark III can display an electronic level, a grid and various information displays in the viewfinder.

Electronic Level

Displays an electronic level at the top of the viewfinder when the shutter button is pressed halfway. Also available in vertical shooting.

  1. Select [Set-up: Viewfinder display].

  2. Select [Electronic level].

  3. Select [Show].

  • (1)
  • (2) 4° or more
  • (3)
  • (4)
  • (5) 7.5° or more

Caution

  • There may be a margin of error of approx. ±1°.

Grid

Displays a grid in the viewfinder to help you check camera tilt and shot composition.

  1. Select [Set-up: Viewfinder display].

  2. Select [Grid display].

  3. Select [Show].

Note

  • You can display a grid on the screen during Live View shooting and before you start recording a movie ().

Information Display in Viewfinder

Setting information can be displayed in the viewfinder for these shooting functions: shooting mode, metering mode, white balance, drive mode, image quality, AF operation, and flicker detection.

By default, only flicker detection is selected ([Check]).

  1. Select [Set-up: Viewfinder display].

  2. Select [Show/hide in viewfinder].

  3. Add a checkmark [Check] to items to display.

    • Select information to display and press SET to add a checkmark [Check].
    • Repeat this step to add a checkmark [Check] to all information to display, then select [OK].

Note

  • Regardless of the [Check] setting, relevant information appears in the viewfinder when you press the MODE / Drive mode/AF operation / Flash exp comp/metering mode / White balance selection buttons, move the lens focus mode switch, or turn the focusing ring of an electronic MF-equipped lens to switch between AF/MF ().
