Solution

If you experience smudged prints when printing from your PIXMA G4200, the Prevent paper abrasion option may help to resolve this issue. Follow the steps below to toggle this option from a Windows PC.

  1. Open the printer driver setup window.

  2. With the printer powered on, click Custom Settings in the Maintenance tab.

  3. Select Prevent paper abrasion.

  4. Click OK. When the confirmation message appears, click OK.

Prevent paper abrasion is set.

 When printing with this option enabled, you may see a message similar to this:


Click OK on this message.

 To disable Prevent paper abrasion, follow steps 1-4 above, but remove the check from Prevent paper abrasion in step 3.
