Solution

If you experience smudged prints when printing from the PIXMA G4200, you may be able to resolve the issue by enabling Prevent paper abrasion from your Mac®. Follow the steps below to toggle this option.

  1. Open the IJ Printer Utility.

  2. Select Custom Settings from the pop-up menu.

  3. Select Prevent paper abrasion.

  4. Click Apply. When the confirmation message appears, click OK.

Prevent paper abrasion is now enabled.

 Depending on the media type used, print quality may be affected when Prevent paper abrasion is enabled. To disable this option, follow steps 1-4 above, but remove the check from Prevent paper abrasion in step 3.
