Description

Learn about options that can be adjusted in the LAN settings menu on the PIXMA TR150.

Solution

Select the Setup icon Setup icon on the HOME screen to select LAN settings from the Device settings menu and access the options below.

 Select Print details in the LAN settings menu, and then select Yes to print the network settings details page.

  • The network settings printout contains important information about your network. Please keep it in a safe place.
     

Wi-Fi settings

The options below are available if you select Wi-Fi from the LAN settings menu.

  • Advanced mode -Enable or disable Wi-Fi.

  • Wi-Fi setup -Select the setup method for Wi-Fi connection.

    • Other connection types

      • Manual connect (adv.) - Select for manual Wi-Fi settings where you can specify multiple WEP keys.

      • WPS (PIN code method) - Select when you use a wireless router that supports a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) PIN code method. Follow the on-screen instructions.

      • WPS (Push button method) - Select when you use a wireless router that supports the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) push button method. Follow the on-screen instructions.

      • Manual connect - Select for manual Wi-Fi settings via the operation panel of the printer.

      • Easy wireless connect

        • Select if you want to send the network information directly to the printer from a computer or mobile device (smartphone or tablet). 

        • Follow the device's on-screen instructions for the setup procedure.

  • Show setting info

Wireless Direct settings

The options below are available if you select Wireless Direct from the LAN settings menu.

  • Advanced mode - Enable or disable Wireless Direct.

  • Change network name (SSID) - Changes the identifier (SSID / network name) for Wireless Direct.

  • Change password - Changes the password for Wireless Direct.

  • Connection request confirmation - If you select ON, the confirmation screen is displayed when a Wi-Fi Direct compatible device is connected the printer.

  • Information about the advanced details on each setting.

  • Show setting info

    • Select Show setting info to display a screen, shich allows you to show or hide the password.

    • The setting items in the table below are displayed. Please note, some setting items may not be displayed based on the printer settings.

    • XX represents alphanumeric characters.

Advanced details

  • Set printer name

    • Specifies the printer name.

    • You can use up to 15 characters for the name.

    • You can't use the same printer name as that already used for other LAN connected devices.

    • You can't use a hyphen for the initial or last character of the printer name.

  • TCP/IP settings - Performs IPv4 or IPv6 setting.

  • WSD setting

    • Setting items when you use WSD (one of the network protocols supported in Windows).

      • Enable/disable WSD

        • Selects whether WSD is enabled or disabled.

        • When this setting is enabled, the printer icon is displayed on the Network Explorer in Windows.

      • Optimize inbound WSD

        • Selecting Enable allows you to receive the WSD printing data faster.

      • Timeout setting

        • Specifies the timeout length.

  • Bonjour settings

    • Setting items for LAN using Bonjour for macOS.

      • Enable/disable Bonjour

        • Select Enable to use Bonjour to perform the network settings.

      • Service name

        • Specifies the Bonjour service name. You can use up to 48 characters for the name.

        • You can't use the same service name as that already used for other LAN connected devices.

  • LPR protocol setting - Enable or disable the LPR setting.

  • RAW protocol - Enable or disable RAW printing.

  • LLMNR - Enable or disable LLMNR (Link-Local Multicast Name Resolution). Select Enable to allow the printer to detect printer's IP address from the printer name without a DNS server.

  • IPP settings - Select Enable to print via the network with the IPP protocol.

  • PictBridge communication

    • Setting items to print from a PictBridge (Wi-Fi) compliant device.

      • Enable/disable communication - Select Enable to print from a PictBridge (Wi-Fi) compliant device.

      • Timeout setting - Specifies the timeout length.

  • Wi-Fi DRX setting

    • Select Enable to activate discontinuous reception (intermittent reception).

    • Based on your router make or model, the intermittent reception may not be available even if Enable is selected.

    • The intermittent reception is available only when the printer is in standby mode (the LCD is automatically off).

  • IPsec settings - Select Enable to specify the IPsec security.
