Description

Learn how to specify what ink tanks are used with the PIXMA TR150 on a Mac computer.

Solution

Specify the ink tank you want to use from the ones that are attached or reduce the black ink that is used to save ink. Please follow the steps below.

Set the ink usage

The print quality may deteriorate when Ink Usage Control is used.

  1. Select Print settings from the Printer settings section of the Remote UI.

  2. If necessary, adjust settings below:

  • Save black ink

    • Controls the consumption of black ink, which allows you to save black ink.

    • To use this function, select Plain Paper in Media Type in the print dialog, and set Normal in Quality.

    • The Save black ink function does not work when:

      • A type of paper other than Plain Paper is selected from the Media Type menu in the Print dialog.

      • XXX (Borderless) is selected from the Paper Size menu in the Print dialog.

      • If Color only is selected in Force ink tank selection.

  • Force ink tank selection

    • Select from All ink tanks, Color only, and Black only.

    • When the settings below are specified, Black only does not function because the printer uses color ink tanks to print documents.

      • Other than Plain Paper, Envelope, IJ Hagaki (A), Hagaki K (A), Hagaki (A), or Hagaki is selected for Media Type in the Print dialog.

      • XXX (Borderless) is selected from the Paper Size menu in the Print dialog.

    • Don't detach the ink tank that is not in use. Prints can't be performed while an ink tank is detached.

    • If you turn the power off, the settings will be initialized, and reverted back to All ink tanks.

  1. Select OK. The printer will operate with the modified settings going forward.
