Solution

The following video will walk you through the process shown below.

Paper Is Jammed inside Printer

If the jammed paper tears and you cannot remove the paper from the paper output slot / the rear tray, or if the jammed paper remains inside the printer, remove the paper following the instructions below.

If paper becomes jammed during printing and you need to turn off the printer to remove it, press the printer's Stop button to stop the printing before you turn off the printer.

Learn how to remove small sized paper (such as card size) that is jammed in the printer..

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
If you're using a battery, turn off the printer, then detach the battery.

  2. Open the print head cover.

  3. Check if jammed paper is under the print head holder.

If jammed paper is under the print head holder, press either the right side or the left side of the print head holder with your fingertips and slide it slowly to the right edge or the left edge, whichever makes it easier to remove the paper.

When you move the print head holder, do not touch the print head lock lever.

  4. Hold the jammed paper firmly in both hands.

If the paper is rolled up, pull it out.

  5. Slowly pull out the paper to avoid tearing it.

Keep the paper at about a 45 degree angle and pull it slowly.

Slowly pull the paper out at about a 45 degree angle
  6. Make sure all jammed paper is removed.

If the paper tears when you pull out it, a bit of paper may remain in the printer. Check the following and remove any remaining paper.

    • Is there any paper left under the print head holder?

    • Are there any small bits of paper left in the printer?

    • Is there any paper left in the left and right empty spaces (A) in the printer?

Check for any remaining paper in the empty spaces of the printer (shown in inset)

  7. Gently close the print head cover.

All jobs in the print queue are canceled. You will need to print again.

When reloading the paper, make sure you are using suitable paper and loading it correctly. If a paper jam message appears on the printer's LCD or on your computer screen when you resume printing after removing all the jammed paper, there may be some paper still inside the printer. Check the printer again for any remaining bits of paper.
