Follow the procedure below to turn on quiet setting if you want to reduce the printer's operation noise.
Quiet setting

Make sure the printer is powered on.

select the Setup icon 
on the Home screen.

Select Device settings.

Select Other device settings.
-
Select Quiet setting.
-
Select the option to turn it ON or OFF.
Good to know

When the quiet setting is turned on, the printer's operation speed will be slower compared to when it's turned off.

This function may not be as effective based on the printer's settings.
-
Certain noise, what you hear when printer is about print, is not reduced.

You can set the quiet mode from the printer's operation panel or the computer's printer driver.
