Description

If scanned images have incorrect colors, calibrating the scanner may help resolve the problem.

Solution

If scanned images have incorrect colors, you may need to calibrate your scanner. Follow the steps below to perform a scanner calibration.

  1. Open ScanGear (the scanner driver). You can open this from IJ Scan Utility:

Click ScanGear in the IJ Scan Utility window (outlined in red)

Some image editing programs may have TWAIN support, which will allow you to open ScanGear. Please refer to the documentation for your image editing program for more information.

  2. Select Preferences.

Click Preferences at the lower right (outlined in red)

  3. With the Scanner tab selected in the Preferences window, set ON in the pop-up menu for Execute at Every Scan under Calibration Settings.

Select ON from the pop-up menu under Calibration Settings (outlined in red)

  4. Select OK.

  5. Perform a scan in ScanGear. Adjust any options as needed in the Basic Mode or Advanced Mode tabs, then select Scan.
The scanner will be calibrated before the scan is performed.
