Solution

The following video will walk you through the process of connecting your PIXMA TR150 to a Mac with the Easy Wireless Connect method.

Wireless Setup - Mac** Computers

**Instructions in this article are for setup on a Mac computer.  If setting up on Windows, click here for instructions

To be able to use the printer to print or scan wirelessly on a Mac computer, the printer must first be connected to the Wireless Network and software drivers and applications installed on the computer.  The instructions /  screenshots  below show the setup program steps  when using the "Easy Wireless Connect" method to connect to the wireless network.

The setup process consists of 2 parts: 

1. Starting Easy Wireless Connect on the printer, and

2. Downloading and running the setup file to install the drivers and software.

Start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer.

Prior to starting setup on the computer, start Easy Wireless Connect on the printer.  Then complete the setup on the computer.
See the procedure below to start Easy Wireless connect.

  1. Press and hold the Figure: Wireless Connect button button on the printer's operation panel.

  2. When the following screen is displayed, complete the setup on your computer.

Download and run the setup file.*

The setup file can be obtained from here. Click Download to obtain the file. Then, open the file after it has finished downloading.

  1. Double-click the Setup icon.

    If you receive the following prompt, click Open.

    Click Open (outlined in red)

  2. Click Next.

  3. Enter your computer's password and click Install Helper.

  4. Click Start Setup.

  6. The installer will check for the latest software updates. This may take several minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

  7. Click Yes on the License Agreement.

    Read the License Agreement and click Yes (outlined in red) to proceed

  8. Select Do not agree or Agree.

    If Do not agree was selected, the following information appears.  Click OK.

    Click OK (outlined in red) to proceed

    The installer will process for a few moments.

    The installer will then check the printer's status.

  9. Click Yes on the Connection Method screen.

  10. The installer will send the network information over to the printer. This may take several minutes.

    You'll be prompted to allow access into your keychain. Click Allow.

    Click Allow (outlined in red) to send the wireless network information from the computer to the printer

  11. Click Next on the Connection completed screen.

     If your printer is not detected, make sure that the computer has reconnected to the correct network. Also, you may need to temporarily disable any firewall software, or you may need to open blocked ports in the firewall. If your Mac is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), temporarily disconnect from the VPN and try the setup again. Also, if you are using a dual-band router, further troubleshooting information can be found here.

    The installer will continue processing for a few moments.

  12. Click Add Printer.

    Click Add Printer (outlined in red) to open the Add window

  13. Select your printer series with Bonjour listed in the Kind column. Select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint for Use: and click Add.

    Select your printer from the list. Make sure that either Secure AirPrint or Airprint is selected for Use

  14. You'll be returned to the window you saw in step 12. Click Next to proceed. The installer will process for a few moments.

  15. Click Next.

    On this screen, click Next (outlined in red) to proceed

    The installer will process for a few moments.

  16. Click Continue online. This will take you to the Canon website where you can download and install software for your printer if desired.
