Removing Jammed Paper from the Rear Side - TR8620

Description

This article explains how you can remove jammed paper from the rear side of the PIXMA TR8620.

Solution

If paper is jammed in the back of your printer, follow the steps below to clear the jam.

 The printer cannot be turned off while it is sending or receiving a fax, or when the received fax or the unsent fax is stored in the printer's memory.

Turn off the printer after making sure it has completed sending or receiving all the faxes. Do not unplug when turning off the printer.

If you unplug the power cord, all the faxes stored in the printer's memory are deleted.

 If paper becomes jammed during printing and you need to turn off the printer to remove it, tap Stop to stop the printing before you turn off the printer.

  1. Rotate the printer so that its rear side faces you.

  2. Open the rear tray cover and then pull up the paper support.

  3. Pull out the rear cover.

  4. Slowly pull out the paper.

     Do not touch the inner parts of the printer.

    If you were not able to remove the paper in this step, detach the transport unit cover and remove the paper by following these steps.

    1. Lift up the transport unit cover and pull it out.

    2. Slowly pull out the paper.

       Do not touch the inner parts of the printer.

    3. Make sure all jammed paper is removed.
    4. Insert the transport unit cover slowly all the way into printer and take down the transport unit cover.

  5. Insert the projections of the right side of the rear cover into the printer, and then push the left side of the rear cover until it is closed completely.

If the measures above do not solve the problem, service is required.

  1. Warranty Service – If you are within the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty and have your proof of purchase you are entitled to service or replacement. If you have purchased a CarePak Canon extended warranty, you may be entitled to additional options.  Please create or log into your Canon Account to obtain service.
