Solution

Using the On Hook Dial Function

Follow the procedure below to send faxes with the on hook dial function.

It may be possible that faxes will reach unintended recipients due to the misdialing or incorrect registration of fax / telephone numbers. When you send important documents, we recommend that you send them after speaking on the telephone.

When manually transmitting faxes, you cannot use the scanner glass to load documents. Load the documents in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).

When loading documents on the scanner glass, send a fax with automatic transmission.

You can use the on hook dial function only when Hook key setting in Security control under FAX settings is set to Enable.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Load documents in the ADF.

  3. Select FAX icon FAX on the HOME screen.

The Fax standby screen is displayed.

  4. Change the fax transmission settings as necessary.

  5. Select On hook icon.

  6. Specify the recipient with the one of the following methods.

  7. When you hear a high-pitched signal, tap Black or Color.

Color transmission is available only when the recipient's fax device supports color faxing.

To cancel a fax transmission, tap Stop. To cancel a fax transmission while it is in progress, tap Stop, and then follow the instructions on the touch screen.

If documents remain in the ADF after Stop is tapped while scanning is in progress, Document in ADF. Remove the document from the document tray and tap [OK]. is displayed on the touch screen. By selecting OK, the remaining documents are automatically ejected.
