Sending a Fax to a Registered Recipient

Registering a recipient's fax / telephone number and name in the printer's directory enables you to send faxes easily.

It may be possible that faxes will reach unintended recipients due to misdialing or incorrect registration of fax / telephone numbers. When you send important documents, we recommend that you send them after speaking on the telephone.

You can also send faxes by directly entering the recipient's fax / telephone number on the touch screen of the printer.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Load the original item on the scanner glass or in the ADF (Auto Document Feeder).

  3. Select FAX icon FAX on the HOME screen.

The Fax standby screen is displayed.

  4. Change the fax sending settings as necessary.

  5. Select Directory.

The screen to select a registered recipient is displayed.

  6. Select a registered recipient.

If documents remain in the ADF after Stop is tapped while scanning is in progress, Document in ADF. Remove the document from the document tray and tap [OK]. is displayed on the touch screen. By selecting OK, the remaining documents are automatically ejected.

In case the printer was not able to send a fax, such as when the recipient's line was busy, it has the function to automatically redial the number after a specified interval. Automatic redialing is enabled by default.

To cancel automatic redialing, wait until the printer starts redialing, and then tap Stop.
