Solution

Using Caller ID Service to Reject Calls

If you subscribe to a Caller ID service, the printer detects the sender's Caller ID. If the sender's ID matches the condition specified in this setting, the printer rejects the phone call or fax reception from the sender.

Contact your telephone company to confirm whether it provides this service.

Specify the setting following the procedure below.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Select Setup icon Setup on the HOME screen.

  3. Select Device settings icon Device settings.

  4. Select FAX settings.

  5. Select Security control.

  6. Select Caller rejection.

  7. Select Yes.

The Caller rejection conditions screen is displayed.

  8. Select a setting and select Accept or Reject.

    Anonymous no.

Selects whether to reject a phone call or fax reception from an anonymous number.

    Out of area no.

Selects whether to reject a phone call or fax reception out of the subscribed service area.

    Rejected numbers

Selects whether to reject a phone call or fax reception from the specified numbers.

  9. Select OK to finish specifying rejection conditions.

If you select Reject for Rejected numbers, Add blocked numbers? is displayed on the touch screen. Select Yes, and then register the rejected number.

Even if you select Reject, the printer rings once.
