Description

Learn about the ECO settings of the PIXMA TR8620. These settings will allow you to specify if the printer will automatically power on when receiving a print job, automatically powering off after a specified period of time, or automatically printing on both sides of a sheet of plain paper.

This setting allows you to use automatic duplex (2-sided / double-sided)  printing as a default to save paper and to turn on/off the printer automatically to save electricity.



 

Using the Power Saving Function

Follow the procedure below to use the power saving function.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Select Setup icon (Setup) on the HOME screen.

  3. Select ECO icon ECO.

  4. Select Energy saving settings.

  5. Check the on-screen instructions and select Next.

  6. Specify the settings as necessary.

    1. Specify the length of time to turn the printer off automatically when no operation is made or no printing data is sent to the printer.

    2. Selecting ON enables the printer to turn on automatically when a scanning command from a computer or printing data is sent to the printer.



 

Using Duplex Printing

Follow the procedure below to use duplex printing.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Select Setup icon (Setup) on the HOME screen.

  3. Select ECO icon ECO.

  4. Select Two-sided print settings.

  5. Specify settings as necessary.

    1. Select two-sided copying as a default.

    2. Select two-sided printing of PDF files saved on a memory card as a default.

    3. Select two-sided printing of sent/received faxes, reports, or lists as a default.

    4. Select two-sided printing of template forms on the printer as a default.

 When duplex printing is selected, the ECO mark icon is displayed on the setting items for duplex printing on each print settings screen.
