Use the Easy Wireless Connect Method to connect the PIXMA TR8620 to a Windows PC.

Easy Wireless Connect setup

Note These instructions are for a Windows computer. If you have a Mac, refer to set up the printer for a Mac®.

There are two parts to this setup:

  1. Start the setup process on your printer.

  2. Download and run the setup file on your computer.


1. Start the process on your printer

  1. Turn the printer ON. If the printer is performing cleaning, print head alignment, or another process, wait for it to finish.

  2. Tap and hold the Wireless Connect symbol on the touch screen.

  3. When the printer preparation is complete, you will see this screen:

    Follow the instructions on the computer or smartphone, etc. to perform the operation

  4. Return to the setup application screen and continue with the setup.


2 Download and run the setup file on your computer

  1. First you will need to get the setup file. Click the Download button If you are prompted to run or save the file, save it to your computer.

  2. After the file has been saved to your computer, open the file to begin the setup program. If you are prompted to provide permission to run this program, click Allow or the appropriate affirmative option.

  3. Select Start Setup on the first screen. The setup program will acquire information on the latest driver and software. This may take several minutes.

  4. On the Before You Continue screen, select Next.

  5. Select Yes on the license agreement.

  6. Select Agree or Do not agree to the survey. If you select Do not agree, a message will appear. If you wish to continue, select OK.

  7. Select Yes on the Check the Connection Method screen.

    Your computer will be temporarily disconnected from your wireless network. This may take a few minutes.

  8. The network connection is complete. Select Next.

     If your printer is not detected, make sure that the computer has reconnected to your wireless network. Also, if you have any firewall software running, temporarily disable the software and try again, or add exceptions to the firewall (please refer to your firewall's documentation for instructions). If you're connected to a Virtual Private Network (VPN), temporarily disconnect from that network and try again.

  9. The drivers will be downloaded and installed. This may take several minutes.

  10. Select Next from the Setup Complete page.

  11. Select Continue online and your setup is complete.
