Dial tone detect avoids mistransmission when reception and transmission occur at the same time.

If you select ON, the printer transmits the fax after confirming the dial tone.

To toggle Dial tone detect on or off, follow the steps below.

1. With the printer powered on, press the Setup  button.

2. Press the right arrow  until Fax settings appears, then press the OK button.

3. Press the right arrow  until  Adv. FAX settings appears, then press the OK button.

4. Press the right arrow  until Dial tone detect appears, then press the OK button.

5. Press the left arrow  or right arrow  to choose between ON or OFF, then press the OK button.

    By default, this function is OFF.
