Description

Learn how to remove a document jammed in the ADF (Auto Document Feeder) of the PIXMA TR7020.

Solution

Cause

Document is too long or is jammed in ADF (Auto Document Feeder).

 

What to Do

Press the printer's OK button to cancel the error.

Then make sure the document you are loading meets the printer's requirements before redoing the operation.

If the document is jammed, remove the jammed document following the instructions below.

 Do not open the document cover if the document is jammed. The jammed document may be torn.

  1. If printing is in progress, press the printer's Stop button.

  2. Turn the printer off.

  3. Open the document feeder cover after removing any pages other than the jammed page from the ADF.

  4. Remove the jammed document.

    If you can grasp the jammed document firmly from upper side of the ADF:

    Hold the document firmly and pull it out slowly.

    If you cannot grasp the document firmly from the upper side of the ADF:

    1. Close the document tray.

    2. Slowly pull out the jammed document from the document output slot.

    If you cannot remove the jammed document from the upper side of the ADF or the document output slot:

    Open the document cover and slowly pull out the jammed document from the back of the ADF.

  5. Close the document feeder cover and turn the printer on.

    When rescanning the document, scan from the first page.

     The document may not feed properly depending on the media type, or your environment, such as when the temperature and humidity are either too high or too low. In this case, reduce the number of document pages to approximately half of the loading capacity.

     If the document still jams, use the platen (scanner glass) instead.

If the measures above do not solve the problem, your printer will require servicing.

  1. Warranty Service – If you are within the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty and have your proof of purchase you are entitled to service or replacement. If you have purchased a CarePak Canon extended warranty, you may be entitled to additional options.  Please create or log into your Canon Account to obtain service.
