Getting Started To communicate with a smartphone, the camera needs to be connected to the smartphone using the dedicated application Camera Connect.
There are two methods for connecting and saving image from the camera to a smartphone. Please select the option below which corresponds to the specifications of your device:
Step 1-A: Using the NFC function to make connections For an NFC-compatible Android smartphone (OS version 4.0 or later), connections can be made by activating NFC and touching the smartphone against the camera. Step 1-B: Making connections using the Wi-Fi menu This method can be used for devices which do not support NFC. Some examples are shown below: â iPhone or iPad â Android smartphones which to not support NFC â Android smartphones installed with OS versions 4.0 or earlier Step 1-A: Using the NFC function to make connections Use an Android (OS version 4.0 or later) smartphoneâs NFC to simplify the process of installing Camera Connect and connecting to the camera.
Itâs easy to reconnect to recent devices, which are listed in the Wi-Fi menu.
The procedures for making connections when the cameraâs power is set to [Off] are explained in the following sections.
For more information about making connections when the camera is set to Playback mode, please refer to the cameraâs instruction manual.
1. Install Camera Connect.
Activate NFC on the smartphone and touch the device against the cameraâs N-Mark () to start Google Play on the smartphone automatically. Once the Camera Connect download page is displayed, download and install the app.
2. Establish the connection.
Touch the N-Mark () on the smartphone with Camera Connect installed against the cameraâs N-Mark.

3. Press the [ ], [ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to choose [OK], and then press the [ ] button.
Camera Connect starts up on the smartphone and automatically connects to the camera.
4. When the screen shown in the image below is displayed, press the [ ], [ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to choose [All images], and then press the [ ] button.
After a connection is established with the smartphone, this screen will close in about one minute.
Proceed to 'Step 2: Sending images to the smartphone' Step 1-B: Making connections using the Wi-Fi menu Before connecting to the camera, you must install the free dedicated 'Camera Connect' app on the smartphone.
1. Install Camera Connect.
2. Press the [ ] button to turn the camera on.
3. Press the [ ] button.

4. Press the [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to choose [ ], and then press the [ ] button.
5. Press the [ ], [ [[|G0100113||3] ] buttons or turn the [ [[|G0088484||3]] ] wheel to choose [Add a Device], and then press the [ ] button.
The cameraâs SSID is displayed on the screen.
6. Choose the SSID (network name) displayed on the cameraâs screen from the list of access points displayed on the smartphone.
7. Tap the [Canon CC] () icon to start the [Camera Connect] app.
8. A screen appears on the smartphone that lets you select which camera to connect to. Select the camera to begin pairing.
9. When this screen is displayed, press the [ ], [ ] buttons or turn the ] dial to choose [All images], and then press the [ ] button.
After a connection is established with the smartphone, this screen will close in about one minute.
Proceed to 'Step 2: Sending images to the smartphone'
Step 2: Sending images to the smartphone
1. Touch [Images on camera ] in Camera Connect.
2. Use the smartphone to import images from the camera to the smartphone.
3. After the screen refreshes, choose the desired images, and then touch [Save] on the bottom right of the screen. The selected images will be saved to the smartphone.
4. After the images have been saved, touch the [Home] button to return to the menu screen.
5. To end the connection, touch the [ ] icon displayed in the upper right of the screen, and then touch [Yes].
Additional Information: Using the on-screen keyboard Use the on-screen keyboard to enter information for the Wi-Fi function. Note that the length and type of information you can enter varies depending on the function you are using.
