Description

Learn how to clean the print head of the PIXMA G2260 / G3260 from the operation panel. If you're experiencing poor print quality (banded / streaked prints, wrong colors, blank pages, etc.), cleaning the print head may resolve the problem.

Solution

Cleaning the Print Head

Clean the print head if lines are missing or if horizontal white streaks are present in the printed nozzle check pattern. Cleaning unclogs the nozzles and restores the print head condition. Cleaning the print head consumes ink, so clean the print head only when necessary.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Press the Setup button, use the left right buttons to select Maintenance, and press the OK button.

  3. Use the left right buttons to select Cleaning and then press the OK button.

Select Cleaning and press the OK button

The printer starts cleaning the print head.

Do not perform any other operations until the printer completes the cleaning of the print head. This takes about 1 minute.

  4. Check the print head condition by printing the nozzle check pattern.

If the problem is not resolved after cleaning the print head twice, clean the print head deeply.
