Description

Learn how to perform an ink flush on the PIXMA G2260 / G3260 from the operation panel. If you're experiencing poor print quality (banded / streaked prints, incorrect colors, blank pages, etc.) and standard print headcleanings and deep cleanings don't resolve the problem, an ink flush may improve the print quality.

Solution

Performing an Ink Flush

Ink flush consumes a great amount of ink.

Frequent ink flushes can rapidly consume ink, so perform an ink flush only when necessary.

Performing ink flush when the remaining ink level is low may damage the printer.

Before performing an ink flush, check the remaining ink level for all colors. If the remaining ink level is below the single dot (a), refill the ink tank of corresponding color.

If the remaining ink level is below the single dot (A), refill the ink

When performing an ink flush, check the free space of the maintenance cartridge. Ink flush consumes a lot of ink, and the consumed ink is discharged to the maintenance cartridge. If the free space is low, replace it with a new maintenance cartridge. If the available capacity of the maintenance cartridge is low, a message is displayed and ink flush cannot be performed.

Perform an ink flush following the procedure below.

  1. Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  2. Press the Setup button.

  3. Select Maintenance and press the OK button.

  4. Select Ink Flush and press the OK button.

  5. Select All colors, Color or BK and press the OK button.

  6. Check the displayed message and press the OK button.

  7. Check the displayed message, select Yes and then press the OK button.

  8. Check the displayed message, select Yes and then press the OK button.

    Ink flush starts.

Do not perform any operations while ink flush is in progress. It takes approximately 5 to 6 minutes to complete.
