Description

You can use Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY to set a static IP address to your printer.

Please note that not all models may support this option.

Solution

You can use Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY to assign a static IP address to your printer. Follow the steps below if you want to assign a static IP address to the printer.

 Depending on your model, you may see different options than the ones shown in these screenshots.

  1. On the main screen of the Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY, tap the printer at the bottom.

  2. Tap Printer Information.

  3. The printer's Remote UI will appear in a web browser. Tap Log on.

     If a warning message similar to the one shown below appears, tap Show Details or the appropriate option.

    You may need to tap another option to confirm that you want to proceed. If you are prompted again to continue, tap the appropriate affirmative option.

  4. Enter the password for your printer, then tap OK.

  7. Tap Other settings.

  8. Tap Yes.

  10. Tap IPv4.

  12. Tap Manual setup, then tap OK.

  13. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway. Tap OK when finished.

  14. If this prompt appears, tap OK.

    The IP address will be set to the one you specified.

     If you change the IP address to something different from what is shown on the screen displayed in step 13, your mobile device will indicate that it can't communicate with the printer. You'll need to either access the Remote UI again through Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY as shown in steps 1-4, or you'll need to enter the new IP address you specified into the web browser you're using. You may need to re-enter the printer's password.

     If your printer has a static IP address and you want it to automatically obtain an IP address from your wireless router, select Auto setup in step 12. However, if you do this, the printer will most likely obtain a new IP address from the router. You'll need to access the Remote UI again through Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY as shown in steps 1-4.
