You can use a USB cable to establish a wireless connection between the PIXMA PRO-200 and a Mac. Follow the steps below to establish a wireless connection via a USB cable.

 

Download and run the setup file.*

Get the Setup File

Click Setup icon in the Dock, follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with setup.

  1. Click Next.

  2. Enter your computer's password and click Install Helper.

  3. Click Start Setup.

  4. Click Next.

    The installer will acquire information on the latest software for your printer. This may take a few moments.

  5. Click Yes on the License Agreement. If you click No, the installer will not proceed.

  6. Select Do not agree or Agree.

    If Do not agree was selected, the following information appears.  Click OK.

    The installer will process for a few moments.

    The installer will check the printer status.

  7. Select Wi-Fi Connection, then click Next.

  8. Make sure that the printer is powered on, then click Next.

    The installer will search for the printer on the network.

  9. The printer will not be detected. Click Next.

  10. On the Easy Wireless Connect screen, click Alternative Methods.

  11. When the Wi-Fi Settings screen appears, select Set up Wi-Fi connection using a USB cable, then click Next.

  12. Connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable.

    The wireless setup will start. Please wait.

  13. Select Allow on the keychain message.

    Click Allow (outlined in red) to proceed

  14. Click Next on Connection completed.

     If the printer is not detected, make sure that your computer has reconnected to your wireless network. Also, temporarily disable any firewall software if possible. If you are connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), temporarily disconnect from the VPN and try again.

  15. Disconnect the USB cable, then click Next.

  16. The installer will download and install the printer driver. This may take a few minutes.

  17. When this screen appears, click Add Printer.

  18. Select the printer with Bonjour listed in the Kind column. Select Canon PRO-200 series for Use: and click Add.

  19. Click Next.

  20. After the installer processes for a few moments, click Next.

  21. Click Continue online. The installer will close.

After finishing the installation, go into System Preferences, then Printers & Scanners. You may have several listings for the printer in your Printers list. Select these printers, then click the minus (-) sign.

When prompted to delete the selected printers, click Delete.
