Ethernet Setup - Windows** Computers

**Instructions in this article are for setup on a Windows computer.  If setting up on a Mac, click here for instructions

To be able to use your printer to print across a wired (Ethernet) network on a Windows computer, the printer must first be connected to the network with an Ethernet cable. Then, drivers need to be installed on the computer.  The instructions / screenshots below show the setup program steps when the printer has been connected to a network via Ethernet.

The setup process consists of 2 parts: 

  1. Setting up the printer to work via Ethernet, and

  2. Downloading and running the setup file to install the drivers.

 

Set up the printer to work via Ethernet

Prior to starting setup on the computer, connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable. Next, change the network setting on the printer to Wired LAN active. Then, complete the setup on the computer. 
Follow these steps to set the printer to Wired LAN active.

  1. With the printer powered on and displaying the HOME screen, use the arrows to select LAN settings, then press the OK button.

  2. Wi-Fi will be selected. Select Wired LAN, then press the OK button.

  3. On the Wired LAN setting list screen, press the OK button.

  4. Enable / disable Wired LAN will be selected. Press the OK button.

  5. Select Enable, then press the OK button.

    The Ethernet port on the printer will be activated.
     

Download and run the setup file.*

Get the Setup File

  1. Run the setup file and click Start Setup.

    Click Start Setup (outlined in red) to proceed

  1. Read the network security notice and click Next.

    Click Next (outlined in red) to proceed

    The installer will acquire information on the latest driver and software for the printer. This may take several minutes.

  2. Read the license agreement. Select Yes to proceed.  If you click No, the installation will not proceed.

  3. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the information request.

  4. This message appears if you selected Do not agree. Click OK to proceed.

  5. Select Yes to confirm the connection method.

    Click Yes (outlined in red) to proceed

     If your printer is not detected, make sure that the computer has reconnected to the correct network. Also, you may need to temporarily disable any firewall software, or you may need to open blocked ports in the firewall. If your PC is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), temporarily disconnect from the VPN and try the setup again.

  6. The printer driver will be downloaded and installed. This may take several minutes.

    The printer will be set up to work with your computer. Please wait.

  7. Click Next.

    Click Next (outlined in red) to proceed

  8. Click Continue online. The installer will close.
