Learn how to connect the PIXMA G7020 to a wireless network via the WPS push button method.

Solution

You can connect the PIXMA G7020 to a wireless network via the WPS push button method. If your router has a WPS push button on it, you can use this to establish a wireless connection between the printer and the router without entering the network password. Follow the steps below to connect the printer to the network using this method.

  1. With the printer powered on, press the Setup  button.

  2. In the Setup menu, Wi-Fi setup is the first option to appear. Press the OK button.

  3. In the Wi-Fi setup menu, press the right arrow  button until WPS (Push button) appears, then press the OK button.

  4. A message will begin to scroll across the LCD. When you see this message, press and hold the WPS button on the router for about 5 seconds. Then, press the OK button on the printer.

    The printer will attempt to connect to the network.

  5. After the printer has connected to the network, press the OK button.

After the printer has connected to the wireless network, you'll need to download the installer package for the printer if your computer hasn't been set up to work with the printer.
