Deep Print Head Cleaning
If print quality doesn't improve after a standard print head cleaning, clean the print head deeply. Cleaning the print head deeply consumes more ink than the standard cleaning of the print head, so clean the print head deeply only when necessary.
-
Make sure that the printer is powered on.
-
Press the Setup button, use the buttons to select Maintenance, and press the OK button.
-
Use buttons to select Deep Cleaning and press OK button.
The printer starts deeply cleaning the print head.
Don't perform any other operations until the printer completes the deep cleaning of the print head. This takes about 2 to 3 minutes.
-
Print a nozzle check pattern to see if the print head is operating correctly.
If the problem isn't resolved, turn off the power and clean the print head deeply again after 24 hours.
If a second deep cleaning doesn't resolve the problem, perform an ink flush.
Make sure that there is plenty of ink in the printer. Also, if the maintenance cartridge is nearly full, you won't be able to perform an ink flush. Replace the maintenance cartridge.
