Set up the PIXMA MG3200 Series Printer for use via Wi-Fi - Windows (Standalone MP Drivers)

Description

This article will show you how to install the drivers for the PIXMA MG3200 series printer on a Windows PC so that it can be used via Wi-Fi.

Solution

The PIXMA MG3220 can be set up for use via Wi-Fi using the MP Drivers available on the Canon USA website. To use the MP Drivers to set up your printer use via Wi-Fi, follow the steps below.

  1. Click here.

  2. Click Select to the right of the MG3220 series MP Drivers.

    Click Select

  3. Click Download.

    Click Download

  4. Save the file to your computer, then open it. If prompted to provide permission, click Allow or the appropriate affirmative option.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Select your place of residence, then click Next.

  7. Read through the License Agreement.  Click Yes to proceed.  If you click No, the installation will not proceed.

    The MP Drivers will be installed. This may take several minutes.

  8. On the Connection Method screen, select Use the printer with wireless LAN connection and click Next.

  9. With the printer powered on, select Next.

    The computer will search for the printer on your wireless network.

    If the printer is already on the network, the installer will proceed. It may take a few minutes for the next screen to appear.

     If your printer is not detected on the network, make sure that the computer has reconnected to the correct network. Also, you may need to temporarily disable any firewall software, or you may need to open blocked ports in the firewall. If your PC is connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), temporarily disconnect from the VPN and try the setup again.

  10. If the printer has never been configured to connect to your wireless network, the following screen will appear. Select Next.

  11. Connect a USB cable to the printer and the computer.

    The printer will look for available wireless networks.

  12. You'll be asked to confirm to connect the printer to the displayed wireless network. If this window shows the name of your network, select Yes. If it does not, select No.

  13. If you select No, a list of detected wireless networks will appear. Select your network from the list, then type your network password into the Network Key: field. Select Connect to send the network information to the printer.

    The computer will send the network information to the printer via the USB cable.

  14. After a few moments, the following screen will appear. Disconnect the USB cable, then select Next.

  15. When the following screen appears, click Complete.

    The setup has been completed
