You can adjust the number of times a telephone connected to the PIXMA TR4720 will ring when receiving faxes (Fax only mode and DRPD only). To adjust this setting, follow these steps.

Make sure that the printer is powered on.

Press the FAX button.
The Fax standby screen is displayed.

Press the Menu / Wireless connect button.
The Fax menu screen is displayed.

Select Receive mode set., then press the OK button.

Select the receive mode, then press the OK button.
The confirmation message for the advanced settings appears.
The (asterisk) on the LCD indicates the current setting.
DRPD is available only in the US and Canada.

Fax only
If the printer is on a dedicated phone line for faxing and you have it set to Fax only mode:

After selecting Fax only mode and pressing the OK button, Make adv. settings? appears on the screen. Make sure Yes is selected, then press the OK button.

Incoming ring appears on the screen. Press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons or the numeric keypad to specify from 2-30 times, then press the OK button.
The printer returns to the Fax mode.
DRPD
If the printer is set to DRPD:

After selecting DRPD and pressing the OK button, Make adv. settings? appears on the screen. Make sure Yes is selected, then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons to select Incoming ring, then press the OK button.

Use the arrow buttons or the numeric keypad to specify from 2-30 times, then press the OK button.
The printer returns to the Fax mode.
