The PIXMA MX472 / MX479 has a function that detects the width of the loaded paper. This prevents printing on paper with an incorrect size specified on a computer or mobile device. If this function is enabled, support code 2100 or 2101 will appear on the LCD of the printer, depending on if the paper is larger or smaller than the size specified on the computer or mobile device. To toggle this function, follow the steps below.

With the printer powered on, press the Setup 
button.

Press the right arrow until Device settings appears on the LCD, then press the OK button.

Output settings will be displayed. Press the OK button.

Press the right arrow until Detect paper width appears on the LCD, then press the OK button.

Press the right or left arrows to choose ON or OFF, then press the OK button.

Press the Back 
button until the Setup menu appears, or press the Copy 
, Fax 
, or Scan 
button.
