Solution

Removing Jammed Paper from Rear Side

  1. Press the printer's Stop  button.

  2. Turn off the printer and unplug it.

  3. Retract the rear tray and the paper output tray.

  4. Rotate the printer so that its rear side faces toward you.

     When changing the orientation of the printer, don't turn the printer upside down or tilt it. The ink may leak out.

  5. Pull out the rear cover.

  6. Slowly pull out the paper.

     Don't touch the inner parts of the printer.

    If you weren't able to remove the paper in this step, detach the transport unit cover and remove the paper by following these steps.

    1. Lift up the transport unit cover and pull it out.

    2. Slowly pull out the paper.

       Don't touch the inner parts of the printer.

    3. Make sure all jammed paper is removed.

    4. If parts (A) are raised, lower them toward you.

    5. Insert the transport unit cover slowly all the way into printer and take down the transport unit cover.

  7. Push in the rear cover until it is closed completely.

  8. Plug in the printer again and turn it back on.

  9. Load paper into the printer.

  10. All jobs in the print queue are canceled. You'll need to print again.

     If the 1300 error recurs, check the feed slot of the rear tray again. A foreign object may be causing paper feed issues.

If the measures above don't solve the problem, the printer will require servicing.
