Before Starting
Your printer must be connected to a network (via Ethernet or wirelessly) in order to perform a firmware update from the operation panel.
Update Procedure
Over time, the firmware for your printer may be updated to improve printer quality and security. To update the firmware for your printer from its operation panel, follow these steps.

Make sure the printer is powered on.

Press the Setup
button.

In the Setup menu, press the
button until Device settings appears. Press the OK button.

In the Device settings menu, press the
button until Firmware update appears. Press the OK button.

In the Firmware update menu, Install update appears. Press the OK button.

If an updated firmware version is available, a message will scroll on the screen telling you that the latest version is available on the server. Press the OK button.

If you already have the latest version available, a message will appear indicating that your firmware is up to date. Press the OK button.

The latest version of the firmware will be shown on the screen. Press the OK button.

You will be asked if you want to update the printer. Use the
button to select Yes, then press the OK button.

A message will scroll on the screen indicating to not unplug the printer during the update process. Press the OK button.

The printer will power off and begin the firmware update process. This may take several minutes.

After the update has finished, the printer will power back on. When the following message appears, press the OK button.

The firmware update process is complete.
