Description

This article shows how to set up the MAXIFY MB5120 for use via USB on a Windows PC using the standalone MP Drivers installer.

Solution

If you want to use the MAXIFY MB5120 via USB with a Windows PC, you can install the MP Drivers for this printer with a standalone MP Drivers installer. This installer uses a more simplified interface than what you would find with the full driver package or setup CD that comes with the printer. Follow the steps below to obtain this standalone installer and set up the printer for use via USB.

  1. Access the MAXIFY MB5120 support page.

  2. Scroll down through the list to find the MB5100 series MP Drivers.

You may need to select the Load More button as you scroll through the list.

  3. Select the Download button for the MP Drivers.

If prompted to run or save the file, save it to your computer, then open it. If prompted to provide permission to run this file, select the appropriate affirmative option.

  9. The installation is complete. Select Complete to close the installer. If you want this printer to be the default printer on your computer, make sure the Set as default printer box has a check. If you don't want this printer to be the default, remove the check from this box.
